The Argentine government decided to recognize the work and dedication of mothers with their children. Now, this care for the children will count as time of service when the woman is going to ask for retirement.
And this recognition increases for mothers who adopt children and who care for children with disabilities.
The measure will immediately benefit almost 155,000 women mothers aged between 60 and 64 who are already in the retirement age group, but who do not have the 30-year contribution required by law.
The measure takes effect in August, when all Argentine mothers will be able to count on the benefit.
And contribution time increases according to these criteria:
One year of contribution will be included for each child.
Two years of contribution will be included for each adopted child
Three years of contribution will be included for each child with a disability.
In addition, mothers who receive some type of social assistance benefit, such as the equivalent of Bolsa Família, may add another 2 years per child.
The Argentine idea is a way to reward mothers who often interrupted their career path to take care of their children.
