The Oswaldo Cruz Foundation warns that the country has an “absolutely critical” picture in hospitals: 15 states already have rates equal to or higher than 90% of occupancy.
The exceptions are the states of Rio de Janeiro, with 79%, and Roraima, with 73%.
Infectologist and researcher at Fiocruz Julio Croda estimates that the lack of federal coordination contributed to the scenario reaching this point.
Monday to Tuesday this week, Brazil broke a new record in the number of daily deaths by Covid-19: 2,841 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health.
The trend, according to Fiocruz, is that this number will exceed three thousand in the coming days.
Fiocruz's epidemiological bulletin also recalls the need to use facial masks, which can reduce the risk of contamination by 70 to 80%.
The Foundation also calls for more restrictive circulation measures to be announced in all Brazilian states.
